Interesting - But I'll stick with the iPhone. a) Free software. While I am very supportive of some "free software" such as several distributions of Linux, I also support commercial software. There have been many occasions over the years where I've come to depend on some free software only to have it's development stall indefinitely. such as when the developers got some paying job or simply don't have the time to continue with the projects. In contrast, the commercial software I've come to depend on such as Adobe Photoshop has been in continual development since before I started using it in 1992. The commercial software has a profit motive and must continue to satisfy the consumer. b) DRM I opine that DRM is a necessary technology to allow some level of perceived protection to content developers while the market makes it's transition to the digital future. I have no objection to paying for content and subsequently having that content play on a restricted or limited set of devices. So long as this is made clear up front and does not become more restictive after purchase. If I purchase a video cassette or video disk It only plays on certian devices unless I take measures to change that. Same goes for DRM content. c) iPhone exposes whereabouts/provides ways to track All modern cell phones do this, it's not a unique feature to the iPhone. The devices must be tracked in order to operate within the cell network. I would think that I'm not "special" enough for some nefarious agency to be so interested in my as to track my iPhone while men in dark sunglasses lurk in the shadows chronicling my activities. d) FreeRunner It looks promising, but from what I've just read today I don't think the average consumer is going to be happy with it. Plenty of geeks like myself might be content with one though. e)As always Apple pushes the industry forward. Apple pushed the entire PC market forward with the Macintosh and later with the iMac, and they launched the personal music player market in into areas no one even imagined with the iPod. So too it is with the iPhone. Every company out there is trying to come out with something that mimics the look and/or functionality of the iPhone. But more importantly, the industry is advancing because of the consumer demand created by Apple. Not everyone will buy an iPhone, but most products will improve trying to compete. And most technologies will get cheaper/better as more and more people buy them and more and more companies compete to market an "iPhone Killer"

L'i phone è una fregatura per fighetti alla moda e basta. L'ho provato a lavoro... non vale quel che costa e poi, almeno per ora, è bloccato e ti costringe a fare un nuovo contratto...
