sbarraMATRIx

grazie ad Andrea per aver elaborato e adattato questa fine parodia di due scene chiave di “Matrix”, in modo da descrivere in modo abbastanza nitido, quella che è la mia missione quotidiana…

Sbarrax is sitting at a table by himself in a small room.
The door opens and the agents enter.
Agent Smith sits down across from Sbarrax with a folder in front of him.

Agent Smith: As you can see, we’ve had our eye on you for some time now, Mr. Frattola. It seems you have been living..two lives.
In one life, you’re Marco Frattola, program writer for a _respectable_ software company… you have a social security number, you pay your taxes, and you… help your landlady carry out her _garbage_.
The other life is lived in computers, where you go by the hacker alias ‘Sbarrax’, and are guilty of virtually every computer crime we have a law for.
One of these lives has a future… the other does _not_ …
I’m going to be as forthcoming as I can, _Mr._ Frattola.
You’re here because we need your help.
We know that you’ve been contacted by a certain individual, a man who calls himself… Stallman.
Now whatever you think you know about this man is irrelevant.
He is considered by many authorities to be the most dangerous man alive. My colleagues believe that I am wasting my time with you, but I believe you wish to do the right thing.
We’re willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start, and all that we’re asking in return is your co-operation in bringing a known terrorist to justice.

Sbarrax: Yeah… Wow, that sounds like a really good deal. But I think I got a better one.
How about… I give you the finger…

================================

Stallman sits down in the armchair opposite from Sbarrax

Stallman: Do you believe in EULA, Sbarrax?

Sbarrax: No.

Stallman: Why?

Sbarrax: Because I don’t like the idea that I’m not in control of my own life.

Stallman: I know… _exactly_ what you mean. Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know, you can’t explain. But you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life. That there’s something _wrong_ with the world.
You don’t know what it is, but it’s there…like a splinter in you’re mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you _know_ what I’m talking about?

Sbarrax: The Microsoft?

Stallman: Do you want to know… _what_ _it_ is… ?

Sbarrax nods

Stallman: The Microsoft is everywhere. It’s all around us, even in this very room. You can see it when you look out your Windows or when you turn on your Media CEnter. You can feel it when you go to work, when you go to work, when you pay your taxes.
The Microsoft is the world that has been pulled over your eyes, to blind you from the truth.

Sbarrax: What truth?

Stallman: That you are a slave, Sbarrax. Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison… for your mind… Unfortunately, no one can be…_told_ what the Microsoft is… you have to see it for yourself.
Stallman opens a container which holds two pills : a blue one, and a red one.
He puts one in each hand, and holds them out to Sbarrax.

Stallman: This is your _last chance_. After this, there is no turning back… You take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up and believe… whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill… you stay in wonderland… and I show you just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Sbarrax pauses for an instant, then reaches for the red pill. He swallows it down with a glass of water, and looks at Stallman.

Stallman: Remember… all I’m offering you is the truth: nothing more.
